About Sydney

I have extensive professional infant and toddler care experience. I was a Forest School Teacher in Central and Prospect Park serving families and their children ages two through 9 years old. I was previously a full-time live-in nanny on the Upper East Side for twins from five months through the time they were two and a half years old. For the past three years, I have spent my time creating and teaching open-ended play classes for parents, caregivers and children to explore sensory based play items in a child-led environment. In my classes, children ages five months to five years of age are presented with unconventional play objects that inspire imagination, I use recycled materials, salad spinners, everyday household items and objects. That babies find interesting. I use these objects to encourage children to explore, observe, hypothesize, and independently tinker without adult interference in order to promote self sufficiency and develop their fine and gross motor skills.
