I have been working with kids with special needs for as long as I can remember! When I was a young child I was always the student my teachers would pair with kids who needed a little extra help and support. When I was in high school I spent 1-2 hours a day as a student aid in a classroom with kids with severe cognitive impairments. The students had different special needs, including down syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy. I originally was going to college to get my degree in special education but switched over to psychology. From 2013 to 2022 I nannied for a family that had quadruplets, one of which had autism. From 2019-present I nanny for a family that has a daughter with down syndrome, she was 1 month when I started and is now 4 years old. I know a pretty good amount of sign language and I am familiar with ABA therapy techniques.
