About Shannon

Hi! I am fun-loving, responsible, energetic college student! I am passionate about working with children as is evident through my 5 years of experience providing various forms of child care. I am currently employed as a camp counselor and after-school program teacher for children who live in an under-served community. I have been a camp counselor for ages 3- 12 years, been a full-time nanny for ages 3-7 years, babysat for many local families, and completed 3 1/2 years of child development courses. I have worked with pediatric patients as a 5 year volunteer at Children's Hospital in the trauma and surgical units and hospital playrooms; served on the board for Lending Hearts, an organization that provides activities and opportunities for children with cancer, and volunteered in Mercy Hospital's child development and preschool center. As a member of a club rowing team, I coached children and adults with disabilities in an adaptive rowing program. References and clearances can be provided!
