Greetings! I would describe myself as a warm, patient and pragmatic mother of two teen daughters. I taught at a Montessori preschool before having kids of my own. I was a stay at home mom for the first 12 years of parenting, including 10+ years homeschooling experience. I am passionate about child centered learning, creating space for children to create and play, clear communication, and supporting magical childhoods. I enjoy reading ALL the Montessori, Waldorf and Unschooling books for fun and insight. My parenting and educational philosophy is rooted in daily rhythms, hands on activities and outside time. I believe children thrive when they are listened to, when they have clear boundaries in place and when they are well rested and well fed. I am passionate about healthy organic food and gardening. I love to cook! I love well written kids books, puppets, storytelling, singing and baking. I am comfortable with pets, light house work and meal prep.

Rebecca (Bheka) was our nanny for all of 2021, caring for our young toddler son while my husband and I worked from home. We were nervous about hiring a nanny, but Bheka was a perfect match and soon felt like a member of our family. Her gentle and creative approach helped our son grow in his language, physical, and social skills, and she always had thoughtful and fun ways to engage him in his interests while also introducing him to new ideas and experiences. She is a clear communicator and made it easy to establish shared values and expectations (especially during the pandemic!), as well as handling any schedule changes that came up. Her own experience as a parent and preschool educator were evident in her interactions and bond with our son; she was genuinely invested in him as a person, and we knew he was in good hands while she cared for him.
