I tutored in American Sign Language for a year for about over a hundred high school kids in total. I know how to push kids to think about the answer instead of me just giving it to them. I have experienced tutors who would rather just give you the answer instead of spending the time to help you understand it better. My belief is that if you help the kid think about the answer, it will help them think about other answers in life instead of just expecting the answer to be handed to them. I have worked in an elementary school mostly with special needs kids. I worked mostly with fourth, sixth and eighth grade but I helped with every grade level on a weekly basis.
