About Melinda

I have been working as a caretaker since I received a babysitting certification at 11 years old. In middle and high school I babysat for a multitude of families in my hometown as their regular sitter. Throughout my high school and college summers I worked as a full time nanny. One of the families I regularly worked for throughout this time has a child with Down Syndrome. While studying at the University of San Diego I worked as a respite caretaker. Throughout this experience I had the incredible opportunity to work with families who have children with various special needs. The majority of the children I worked with were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. However I cared for children with Down Syndrome, Mood Disorders, Physical Disabilities, and more. At the beginning of the pandemic I worked as a full time nanny for two young boys in Portland. As a caretaker I love to be outside, play sports, do arts and crafts, read, stay active, and cater to each child's specific needs.
