About Melanie

Ever since I was in elementary school I have wanted to work with children. When I was 13 years old I started to babysit. My senior year of high school I started to nanny. While I was attending Arundel High School I had the opportunity to take child development classes. While taking these classes I was able to learn the basics of how to teach young children. I also had the opportunity to intern at Piney Orchard Elementary School when I was a senior in high school. I am currently a rising senior at Randolph Macon College. Randolph Macon has given me many wonderful opportunities to be actively engaged with children. My internships so far have included kindergarten, first, and fifth grade. I love being able to do arts, crafts, and fun activities with children. My passion is reading, and I love reading to children as well as listening to them read!
