I'm a 2nd grade teacher who loves to help children learn! I have also taught 1st grade and have a Master's degree in elementary education. I recently became certified to tutor dyslexic students using the Orton-Gillingham method through the Dyslexia Training Institute. Orton-Gillingham is a multi-sensory approach to teach reading. Students will learn to use independent skills to practice decoding and encoding (reading and writing). This approach is effective for many types of readers, not just dyslexic students! If you feel your child needs extra support with reading and writing, this tutoring is a great resource! Reach out to learn more about what supports I can offer, sessions can be online or in-person.
