About Kelly

I have a M. S. Ed degree in Elementary Ed. with a specialization in language & literacy. I began my professional educational career 18 years ago working as a full-time K-12 language arts & English teacher. Since 2014, I've been working as a freelance grants writer, educational curriculum developer, and youth outreach project coordinator for universities & non-profit organizations. Currently, I also do a lot of small group & one-on-one tutoring (both in person and, YES, of course, online) for students of all ages with various learning styles & abilities. While I do provide assistance to students in several subjects, my specialty is helping reluctant readers strengthen their critical thinking skills, enhance their fluency and accuracy in reading orally, improve their reading comprehension, develop their vocabulary and become more comfortable expressing themselves using the written word (writing papers, speeches, college entrance essays etc.) Test & exam prep is also a common request.
