About Katie

Hi! My name is Katie, and I'm (fairly) a recent University of Oregon graduate with a BA in journalism and communications. My career goal is to work on the editorial side of a magazine, writing and editing. I also love working with children, which may eventually land me back in school to receive teaching credentials. Over the last 10 years, I've coached and cared for children ranging in age from 3 to 10. In high school, I coached and mentored young basketball players at Excel Basketball Camp in Concord, CA. Most recently, I cared for a family in Seattle. After spending a year as their nanny, I became very attached to the three children--I still stay in touch with the family. I'm very much a right-brain-kind-of-person, and love arts and crafts. Hope this helps you get to know a little more about me, and I hope to hear from you soon!
