About Haala

I am an engineer, tutor and coding instructor for children in NYC. I received my bachelors degree with distinction in environmental and chemical engineering and worked for three years of environmental engineering consultant. I have tutored dozens of students over the last decade and really enjoy helping children and young adults understand the fundamentals of science and math. I enjoy volunteering with the Society of Women Engineers to encourage teenage girls who are interested in science and engineering. As someone who has struggled with ADD, I understand how quickly a student can get lost in coursework. I believe the key to helping young people learn is creating a safe and structured environment for them to truly absorb and enjoy science and math. I strive to help my students gain confidence, not only in their schoolwork but in their ability to learn these subjects generally.
