About Gemma

Hi, I'm Gem! When my Gramps was on hospice, before we could get a nurse, I was the only one who was able to stay awake through night to watch him. Throughout his last days I would cook for him, talk to him, listen to his stories (he was very confused towards the end of his life, however I made sure that he felt heard, validated, and understood even if it made no sense), change his bed and diapers, gave him his pain meds, kept the room he was in clean, organized, and decorated with some pictures of our family, etc. Throughout caring for my Gramps, I realized I have a passion for this and I'd be happy doing this everyday for the rest of my life as a career. P. S. I'd be 100% willing to meet you guys first before any paid shift, so you could get a glimpse of who I am if that made you feel more comfortable leaving me there with your loved one, it's up to you!
