About Ember

Hello! I am a PhD student in Ecology at CSU as well as a birth doula and advocate for survivors of domestic violence. I am incredibly passionate about working with kids and believe teaching emotional intelligence, ecological stewardship, and compassion is the best way to change the world. I moved to Fort Collins from Ann Arbor, MI where I got my M. S. in Conservation Ecology and Environmental Justice. I nannied for a family with one child (2-4) throughout my M. S.. I also babysat during my undergraduate in Biology and Chemistry at Westminster College. While getting my undergrad, I was a nanny for a small family and watched their baby from 3 months to 1. 5 years old. I have also been a nanny for several other families, peer mentor, lab technician, crisis advocate at a domestic violence shelters, and a camp counselor. My caretaking philosophy is to emphasize education, empathy, patience, and awareness in every interaction.
