About Dixie

I am a lifelong learner and am passionate about working with children to teach them about the world around us and help them succeed in reaching their potential and making a positive impact on the world! For the past 14 years, I have worked with children in some capacity. These experiences range from babysitting/nannying to tutoring high school Spanish, volunteering with children with special needs, working in an Essential Skills classroom for 3 years, teaching Sunday school, and working with children involved in remote learning. I have tutored off and on mainly on a volunteer basis, with only one year paid. I have a B. A. in Elementary & Special Education from WGU, but appreciate the flexibility and more personal connections tutoring provides compared to a full-time teaching job. I believe working one-on-one with students provides the opportunity to help students discover how they learn best and, and thus, unlock their passion and potential for lifelong learning.
