About Deirdre

I love spending time with seniors! As a teenager, I volunteered in a skilled nursing facility in a hospital. I was lucky enough to have my Grandmother live until 95 years old and I was her primary caregiver while she lived independently. I also took care of my Mom while she was recuperating from open heart surgery. I'm very comfortable helping seniors by doing what's needed to make sure they are having the best quality of life while living independently. Most of my interactions with seniors outside my family have been through volunteer activities, Meals on Wheels, Eucharistic minister, volunteering at adult daycare. I'm able to assist with dressing, bathing, cooking, organizing medications and running errands. I love to talk and listen to stories, playing cards, sing. I'm always impressed by how much you learn from seniors and how much they appreciate you spending time with them.
