About Dana

Hi everyone! My name is Dana and I live in West Asheville with my partner and our three dogs (and cat!). I have several years of experience working with kids: from tutoring and mentoring, to volunteering with them, to full time nannying. I have primarily worked with kids aged five and up, and am glad to assist with schoolwork as needed. I love doing activities with kids, and tend to rely sparingly on electronics and TV when they're in my care. I also greatly enjoy the outdoors and would love to accompany your child on a neighborhood walk, or bike ride, or even a dip in the local pool. Your dog is also welcome to come along! When working with kids, I strive to be both empathetic and non-coercive. I believe in treating children like equals, and as a caregiver, do not attempt to cajole or direct them in their schoolwork, play, etc. I think in order to raise compassionate, caring adults, kids need to be treated compassionately and with care! I'm happy to discuss this more!
