About Claire

I like helping kids understand something they were struggling with. I know it's hard to admit when something is difficult and to be able to help someone feel confidence again is really special. I'm looking for a job that is recurring, maybe the same night every week for homework or essay help. I really enjoy teaching others how to write so their first draft is already at a high standard of grammar and they can focus on content. I can work with any age, but middle to high school is where my strengths lie. I'd also be happy to read a book with a student who's struggling in English class and help them with the assignments. In my spare time, I journal every night just to let some creative writing juices flow. I write poetry. I like to study languages. I'm working on Spanish and German -- Spanish because it's practical and German because it's similar to English. My skills include writing and grammar. I'm good at anything involving words. I can also cover basic math up to algebra 1.
