About Cassandra

Hi! I am a Special Education teacher with over 15 years of experience in the field of education with 8 years in Special Education specifically. I can help with Special Education and teaching students struggling to read. I have a passion for reading instruction, especially in cases where students are multiple grade levels behind. I am trained in Sonday 1 and 2. Sonday is an Orton Gillingham based program. I have experience and awareness of many effective phonics instruction programs as well. I am a highly effective teacher who has a proven track record of helping many students grow multiple grade levels in reading over one year. I am finishing my training in a robust science of reading program, LETRS, which was state sponsored. I am good at building rapport and confidence with even the most disillusioned students in order to help them grow. I as a Special Education teacher I have experience helping students with a wide range of educational needs and behaviors find success!
