About Brooke

As a creative and experienced Language Training Specialist, I provide remediation strategies for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences using the Orton-Gillingham (O-G) and Davis Gift of Dyslexia-style approaches. Criterion-based testing is utilized and executive functioning strategies are incorporated as needed. All training plans are individualized for each student's needs and delivered through 1-on-1 instruction and/or via eLearning. Fun is added whenever possible. This work is my passion. My youngest son is dyslexic and my eldest son has language-based learning differences. Their challenges set me on a trajectory which resulted in me retooling and changing my career so that I could teach at, and my son could attend, The Kildonan School which, until its closing in 2019, was the premier private school for dyslexics. Through this journey, I came to understand that I am dyslexic as well, a perspective that gives me tremendous empathy for my students.
