About Briana

I am a fourth year medical student at MUSC and have extensive experience working with geriatric patients at MUSC, Institute of Psychiatry senior care unit, and the VA. Before medical school, I was a patient care technician (nurse assistant) at MUSC on the kidney/transplant unit and my responsibilities included bathing patients, assisting with meals, changing beds, monitoring input/output, taking vital signs, etc. I also have experience caring for my grandmother who has Alzheimers before she passed away. She lived 5 minutes down the road from us growing up and I had a very close relationship with my grandparents. I thoroughly enjoy working with the elderly population. I will be receiving my M. D. from MUSC College of Medicine this May 2017 and my future career plans will be starting ophthalmology residency in Philly in July 2018.
