About Ashley

Half my life has been peppered with childcare, from my first babysitting job at 14 which progressed into spending my high school summers as a teen instructor's assistant at the Birmingham Zoo's kids camps. I then worked extensively in the food service industry, in mostly family-oriented restaurants, and while not professionally employed in child care I maintained a connection with kids through watching my friends, neighbors, and extended family's children. In 2017 I attended Alderleaf Wilderness College and obtained an Outdoor Education certification, as well as a CPR and Wilderness First Aid certification, while working closely with the Quiet Heart Wilderness School children's program in Seattle. I spent 2019 in the Methow Valley as a live-in nanny for a family with two girls, three and 16, on a sprawling ranch where we were often outdoors immersed in animal husbandry, gardening, natural awareness and primitive skills.
