About Ardis

I like working with kids because it is some of the most rewarding work I can do. Watching a child apply skills or information I have taught them to their everyday life fills me with joy. Also, kids are simply just fun to be around! My skills include patience, compassion, and social emotional skills. In my spare time I like to read, go camping, or do crafts. I'm looking for a job where I can form a good and trusting connection with the child or children, and have an open and honest relationship with their guardian or guardians. I started working with kids when I was about 14. I mostly babysat, but was also a counselor in training at my sleep away camp. I went on to be a counselor for 2 years at this same summer camp. After taking a break from childcare during and immediately after covid, I have been working as a lead preschool teacher for a year now, and I absolutely love it!
