About Amy

I am a teacher with a Master's degree in English education and over 13+ years of experience. Students and parents who need a teacher with experience with reading and writing I can help all students from elementary and middle school through high school. I have taught honors, AP, ACP (through Indiana University) and IB. I have advanced knowledge in literature and nonfiction. My results speak for themselves as I've shown a 15% growth in SAT scores and a 200% increase in students receiving college credit. As an added bonus, I'm a trained opera singer and actor. I have taught private voice and acting lessons for 20 years. My teenage students have been very successful and have received acceptance and scholarships to attend college for music. Even if you aren't looking to study music or theatre as an undergraduate, knowledge of opera and/or acting/musical ability is a great way to differentiate yourself.
