About Amelia

I have extensive experience one on one with children and families. My duties have included but not limited too: supporting all areas of development through language, self help skills, and activities. I am experienced with understanding the "why" behind behaviors and integrating emergent activities and techniques that center around a child's interests and skill level. My philosophy towards child rearing is a mixture of Reggio Emilia, Piaget, Montessori and personal experiece including trial and error. I enjoy working with children and young people because I see my younger self in them. Educating and teaching is intuitive for me. I am a neuro divergent learner myself and my goal in life is to bring understanding to children who may not learn typical. I hold an AS and BA in child and adolescent development, as well as an MA in special education, and I am one test away from obtaining my mild to moderate teaching credential.
