About Amanda

I took care of my grandfather while he was ill with dementia for the last five years of his life. I can provide errand running, cleaning, cooking, and companion services for elders or disabled. I'd describe my personality as understanding, compassionate, and respectful. I am someone with strong convictions and who values others time and space. I also like to make others laugh. I like caring for seniors because they have so much to offer and teach us in return about life and our own selves. I'm looking for a job that offers me the chance to do work that feels meaningful and that makes an impact. I started caring for seniors when my grandfather became ill with dementia in his last five years of life. It was incredibly difficult but an honor to be with him during that time. I'm an English professor, so I write and read a lot. I also love to hike and garden and be outside. Traveling holds a special place in my heart. I also have a funny beagle mix at home that loves to eat everything.
