Full-Time Nanny M-F 7:30a-5:30p $1100-$1375/wk DOE
Return Phinney Ridge family is looking for their next long-term nanny for their new baby boy and their 2.5yr old boy beginning mid- July! Parents are described as laid back with more of a Montessori approach to parenting; let them explore, redirect behaviors when they are doing something you don't want them to do, if upset you want to speak to feelings, however, there are also rules that need to be followed so having that balance is key to be successful in this role. Their ideal candidate is flexible, punctual, can come up with age-appropriate activities in and out of the home, knowledgeable in what the next development stage will be for the children and being proactive about ways to help in the development of it. Maybe this person even has a background working as a teacher in a preschool!
Your responsibilities, aside from childcare, include keeping the kitchen clean (unloading/loading dishwasher if there is a pot from the night before, washing it), kids' laundry (family laundry is welcomed but not required), keeping kids' areas picked up, transporting to and from preschool/activities, getting lunches/snacks put together, and just being aware of what is going on in the home and communicating about it (diapers getting low, let mom know). During the summer you will have both kiddos but come fall, the toddler will be going to a Montessori preschool about 15min away. Parents will need help getting him up and ready, putting lunch/snacks together for school, dropping him off around 8:30am, and picking back up around 4 p.m.
The position offers $23-$25/hr + overtime, 45hrs/wk guaranteed (schedule is 50hrs though), mileage reimbursement, paid sick leave, paid vacation, and paid holidays!
