I am a recent college graduate living in Florida for the summer, before I head to Duke University for a Masters degree on the road to becoming a college professor.
While in college I studied Physics and Theology, an albeit strange combination. I spent three years of college as a Teachers Assistant in the Physics department. In this capacity I spent many hours working with students on homework, be it specific problems or general concepts. I also worked in our colleges observatory, teaching students about the telescopes, explaining various aspects of basic observing, and providing assistance on homework.
I also volunteered at a elementary school, assisting a teacher there with Astronomy Club, explaining various aspects of our universe to 2nd-5th graders.
Because Wheaton College is a Liberal Arts college, I have taken classes in every subject, from Philosophy and Political Science to History, Music and Anthropology, on top of my Physics and Theology courses. I chose this school so that I could take these classes, as I love to learn and understand as much as I can. And this learning is maximized the most, I believe, when I can pass on some of what I have been taught to others.
