Seeking senior care for my grandmother in her 80s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my grandmother: she can be reserved, independent. She's a strong willed woman who hasn't gotten used to not being able to do everything like she used to. She is very stubborn and mildly argumentative but if you're compassionate and can prove to her that you actually care about her she'll listen. She is recovering from a broken hip, uses a walker to get around but can't manage much more than getting to her pot grabbing bologna out the fridge. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm, strong, fond of pets. Ideally you should be able to get her changed when she messes on herself and once trust is built hopefully get her into the shower and walking around more. You would also be expected to run to the store, wash dishes, sweep, empty her pot, and whatever else she needs which isn't much. If you could hang out and chat with her before getting her changed that would be best as she's not fond of getting right down to business. Will discuss any questions during interview.
