Seeking Part-time Senior Care Provider In Jessup - My Aunt Cyndie...
$15 – $20/hr • Part time • Starts May 6 • Jessup, PA
About who needs care: My Aunt Cyndie is a quadriplegic and she was just discharged from the Psych hospital a day or 2 ago. My understandingis the hospital transport staff just dropped her off in her home and left her there. I was just made aware of this and I would appreciate a caregiver to go help her immediately today. My cousin (her son), Dale and her niece (me) Arlene want a caregiver to go out to change her, feed her, bathe her and if she wants to go to bed to get some rest, please put her in bed using her Hoyer lift. She currently does not have a phone. When the caregiver gets to her house, please knock loudly and announce loudly that "Dale and Arlene sent you there to take care of her and help her." Please allow her to use caregiver's phone to call me (Arlene) to verify that I did send them so she knows it's ok for them to be there and she's safe, as we have no way of currently communicating with her yet. We're getting her another phone since the one Dale overnighted had gotten lost. It may take her a little while for her to get to the door especially if she's sleeping. So, please knock loudly and announce what I mentioned above loudly, "that Dale and Arlene sent you there to help you and take care of you". After the 1st or even 2nd day, Cyndie will make arrangements with the caregiver about scheduling. I am setting up the initial visits to get a caregiver over to her immediately and to give me an update please. My cousin lives all the way in AZ and I am in WB and don't currently have a car. We want to make sure she is not alone and is well taken care of until I can get out there to see her in a few days and get her a new phone myself and a grocery order order as well. Please let me know if she needs groceries or anything else and I will take care of that right away! Thank you so much with all of our hearts because we are all she has.
About the care needs: The caregiver needs to know how to use a Hoyer lift. They need to be physically strong being she is a quadriplegic, even though my aunt is petite she tends to lean towards one side when showering her. My aunt does have some mental health illness, so please continue to reassure her that she is safe and that Dale and Arlene sent you, if she asks again. My aunt has been so depressed lately because my car officially quit so i can't get out to see her lately and Dale is in AZ so she's lonely. I will be out there this week, if not today. I think it would be great if the caregiver can find ANY kind of activity that doesn't require alot of physical activity that would tire her out, and she's also a very spiritual person so if they feel comfortable listening to her talk about that and even engaging in conversation with her about that, I know she's love that too!! They need to be kind, honest, caring, compassionate, funny would be helpful as well as a listening ear, and reassuring her that we love her ALWAYS and that she is safe.
