Vince showed extreme enthusiasm and can do attitude. Alluded to his background working with a family in San Mateo with special needs. He jumped in to the role but then showed up late for two shifts, and then offered up two days before his next shift his resignation after spending a month supporting him on his training schedule. He abandoned his shifts that were laid out for him for the rest of the month that we worked quickly to address and no showed for his shift that following Thursday saying he received a better role that he couldn’t turn down. In caregiving we aren’t in a corp world but rather dependent on the care of those who we put faith in. After a month of ramping him up in the new role, we even tried to negotiate a one week transition to allow us to handle his transition out but said it was too much for him. I would suggest you consider other when it comes to hiring this candidate if their trust and kindness isn’t in place to take on the role from the beginning.
