Hi! I'm a speech language pathologist that works in early intervention (birth -3). I've been wanting to look for part-time outside of work and it's been tricky with my varied hours. Currently, I work at a non-profit organization that provides education for children with hearing loss. My graduate program at University of Akron has provided me ample opportunities to learn and apply my knowledge and skills in a variety of settings. I received extensive training in auditory-based interventions from working with a wide range of professionals to serve hard of hearing/deaf children and their families. My clinical practice in both the hospital and school setting has included, but is not limited to, promoting auditory and communication skills strategies to families and children with hearing loss, communicating and educating parents strategies for promoting auditory, language, and literacy skills through therapy activities and home programs, assessing and treating students with various communication disorders and disabilities such as pervasive developmental disorders, expressive and receptive language deficits, cognitive disabilities, and phonological disorders.
