About Valerie

I am a 2nd year, 24-year-old, 5th grade teacher. I spend 7 hours with 25, 10 and 11-year-olds. My philosophy is that learning should be fun and meaningful, and should extend into the home on a regular basis. I spent a summer nannying in Alaska on a remote island for a 5 and 11-year-old. I am more than willing to clean, cook, and run errands. I have a lot of experience with tutoring both young children and teenagers with a range of abilities in different subjects. I grew up as one of the oldest in a large extended family and have experience with children of all ages. I feel very comfortable with children as well as any pets that might be part of your family.
