About Valerie

My name is Valerie, I am 27, and I have around 10 years of child and animal care experience. I began working in child care at age 16. I held a position as instructor at an outdoor/wildlife center from age 18-21, creating my own curriculum for preschool and elementary aged children. For five years I led an after school 4H club of 40+ children from ages 9-18 focusing on animal husbandry, agriculture, and youth leadership. For the last 5 years I have worked in private childcare, running small educational playgroups. I have worked with disabilities ranging everywhere from mild behavioral disorders, to autism, seizure disorders, downs syndrome, and a wide array of allergies. I have renewed my child and adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification training three times, however it has expired. I believe that my experiences have given me a unique, passionate, and infectious love of the environment, animals, art, and reading that I work to help cultivate in every child I work with.
