About Valerie

I have worked with children primarily as a social worker for 14 years, in schools, in a hospital, in an academic summer program & camp I have also provided consultation to a child development center for children 2-5. From June to December 2014, I assisted in providing care for an infant in foster care. He was 9 months old when he was transferred to a new foster home. I talked, sang, read, and played on the floor with the baby. I introduced him to solid foods and bathed him. I enjoyed seeing him develop. Making sure that your children are cared for and safe will be my priorities. I also helped to care for an infant who was 4 months old with special needs. I believe that children need consistency and have adults that anticipate their needs. I have been volunteering with The Help Group in a program for children with special needs. I am patient, compassionate and nurturing. I am available at the times stated but I also have flexibility in my schedule as things come up.
