About Valerie

I am currently an infant/toddler teacher in a childcare center. I have a total of 10 years of experience in this field and a degree in Elementary Education. My passion is infants and toddlers and I love, love, love all things related to nurturing their growth and development. I am married and we have one daughter, who is 14. When she was born I left my job an infant/toddler teacher because I wanted to be able to work part-time while she was little but returned to the field 5 years ago because I really, really missed working with young children. I believe it my calling. I would love to care for 1-2 children (I could handle more, but I can't fit more in my car if needed). I enjoy outings and spending time outside. I believe strongly in the power of play and allowing children to be children. I do not agree on pushing academics and feel that children should be allowed to explore and figure out their world at their own pace with the love and guidance of caring and supportive adults.
