About Valerie

I recently graduated from the School of Public Health at The George Washington University, majoring in exercise and nutrition. This Fall I am attending Columbia School of Social Work to obtain my masters. I have had a lot of experience working with children from being a teachers aid for kindergarten students through grade 5. I pride myself in being an initiator of creative solutions. As an assistant coach my objective was to encourage unmotivated youth to find enjoyment in outdoor physical fitness. I strives to promote lifelong healthy habits and building social skills, while ensuring the activities are age appropriate and safe. I implemented structured programming that provided the students with the discipline to be inclusive, respectful, and a valuable team player. Most significantly, I am also very concerned about protecting public health. I founded an In Case of Emergency Safety Program, to encourage students to place the emergency number of their parent on their cell phone.
