About Tasha

In college I was a babysitter for two families during my freshman year; one family had a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old (who had diabetes and a seizure disorder). The other family was a 7-year-old and 9-year-old. In college I was also given the opportunity to work with a 5-year-old girl who was primarily non-verbal and autistic. I worked with her and her family for three months using the Program. I was also given experience through my college working with 4-year-old's in a preschool setting. My final placement through UMF was as an assistant to a home visitor. We worked one-on-one with a 2-year-old boy. Each week we planned a different activity to work on his speech (which was delayed). Along with our home visit, we ran a playgroup for kids in the community which consisted of multiple families with children ages 3 months to 10 years old. I was a nanny for 5. 5 years prior to my move to Philadelphia.
