About Sydney

Hello! My name is Sydney, and I'm a college student from New York City. I love working with and spending time with children and am hoping to babysit this summer when I'm back home. I've had experience over the past three years caring for kids of all ages. Three summers ago, I worked as a day camp counselor for 4-5-year-olds, guiding them through various outdoor activities over the course of the day. I was also a bus counselor, managing safety on the bus to/from camp and bringing games, music, and read-alouds to make the trip more engaging. After the camp season ended, I spent two weeks babysitting full-time for a camper's family. Last summer, I worked as a Teaching Fellow in Philadelphia, where I gained experience teaching/tutoring slightly older kids. For some time both pre- and post-COVID, I also used to babysit for younger kids (aged 10 months to 3 years), handling dinner, diapers, and bedtime in addition to much playing and reading.
