I have had a good amount of experience with special needs kids with a wide variety of different needs and circumstances. I have babysat/ been a part time nanny for multiple families with downs syndrome kids. In addition I have many cousins who I have spent extensive amount of time with that have a mix of autism, Asperger's, and ADHD ranging from mild to severe cases. I have also spent time with my schools special needs department beginning in middle school socializing, playing games with, and helping students with homework among other thing expanding my experience with a wide variety of special needs kids. All of this experience has led to me deciding that I want to do this for a career and I will be attending the University of Kansas to pursue my degree in elementary special needs education.
