My experience in health care started back in 1980 at a hospital. I started as a nurse's aide with the elderly then I worked in the mother-infant unit, then I went to the medical records department as a coder until 2010. I helped take care of an elderly couple in Burlington, MA. They both have Alzheimer's and I cared for them 35 hours a week. I enjoy working with them because it enables them to stay in their own home where they are most comfortable. I get up in the morning thinking what will this day bring for them. I assist them in their showers. I do their cooking, cleaning, washing, and taking care of their cat.
