Hi there! My name is Sofia and I have been working professionally with children since 2012. I started out as a nanny and then spent 8 years as a preschool teacher, primarily in child-led and nature-based settings. I have a degree in Child Development from CSULB and a certificate in Infant & Toddler Development from Irvine Valley College. I practice gentle/respectful caregiving and am heavily inspired by the RIE philosophy, as well as the Reggio approach to early childhood education. My favorite things to do with children include spending time in nature, making art, reading and telling stories, and active outdoor play. I love to build connections with children and foster positive relationships with families. Sofia took care of our daughters, for about three years, taking them from school to home, tutoring them, taking them to their educational and recreational activities. She created a very strong bonds with our daughters and they love her (and we believe that she genuinely likes our daughters as her family members). Since than Sofia has been part of our extended family. My kids ask for her once a while and she comes and spends time with them. She is very caring, warm, organized, and great at communicating with kids. I highly recommend Sofia.
