About Sofia

I'm a new UC Berkeley graduate, and I am working to finance my Masters degree. I began coaching swim and tutoring in 2016, and have worked with children of all ages in both professional and volunteer capacities. Through the Bridging Berkeley program, I mentored middle schoolers one-on-one, acting as a tutor and advocate for struggling young people who needed extra love and support. At Cal, I ran the youth aquatics program, which involved the management and coordination of the Parent-Infant class, Tiny Tots class, elementary-aged Learn to Swim session, and private lessons. I have volunteered with the Junior Classical League since 2017 on the regional, state, and national level, and help put together competitions and events for young people interested in studying ancient cultures and languages. Working with young people is a deeply rewarding experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with some truly fantastic families.
