About Skylar

Coming from a family of eight, I absolutely love kids, and it makes me happy to be able care for others. I've only had an official babysitting job for two years, but coming from a family of six children, I have been "unofficially" taking care of children on and off for as long as I can remember. The ages I enjoy taking care of the most are infants and toddlers, but I'm also comfortable with boys and girls up to age 12. I also love pets, especially dogs. I have a lot of experience with volunteer work as well. I love to visit the elderly in nursing homes, help out at daycare centers, and lead games and sports at camps. I've also helped with house cleaning at a women's shelter. I don't have a philosophy for babysitting, but I do think that it is very important to earn the respect of the children, and to give that respect in return. But at the same time, it's impossible for me to not have fun with kids. It's important to me that I carefully balance my roles as caregiver and friend.
