Two years ago my wife and I, as new parents and without any family nearby, started interviewing nannies knowing it would be one of the most important decisions of our lives up until that point. We were nervous, anxious, and wanted so badly to find the right person to help in taking care of our little baby girl. Two years later, I can’t imagine where we would be without Shella. She is truly heaven sent and has become part of our family in a relatively short period of time. She’s helped us navigate being new parents, became a comforting presence in a world of unknowns, and ultimately is our little girl’s best friend. To put in frankly, there’s no one I trust more than Shella when it comes to the care of our daughter. She’s helped us in more ways than I can count…sleep training, transitioning to solids, teething, napping, nutritional guidance, education…the list is endless. The easiest decision you could ever make in the care of your children is to invite Shella into your lives. Conversely, the hardest decision for my wife and I has now become transitioning our daughter into her next chapter. In losing Shella, our loss will become some other family’s incredible gain. We could never thank Shella enough for what she’s meant to our little family and we will be forever grateful for our time spent with her. We are better for it and our daughter was blessed in having the very best nanny and person with her for the first 2 years of her life. We love Shella and, while it’s not goodbye, we will miss her immensely.
