Between 2004 to 2008 I worked for NWLA Child & Family Network helping Daycares meet state requirements and acquiring my own early childhood education certificates. Also, during that time I became a foster parent for the state of Louisiana which entailed an extensive background and criminal investigation and more child care training. After that time, I spent two years in Africa doing missionary work with a grade 1-6 Christian school and a growing all girl orphanage. When I returned home, I went into full time child care for individuals. I've worked for a doctor, an airline stewardess, work-from-home parents, an attorney, military families, a police, and a stay at home mom. The hats I've worn in this profession include maid, chef, chauffeur, teacher, entertainer, and of course nanny. I love the work I do and wouldn't trade it for any other.

Shelia was our son's nanny from the time he was 3 months old during the height of COVID. Shelia is always reliable and on time. She has a wealth of childcare knowledge from both her past as a nanny and child caregiver and with her own children and grandchildren. Shelia is great at coming up with age appropriate activities and outings to keep my son entertained and learning. She formed a bond with our son that allows him to feel safe with her as if she was another grandmother to him. Shelia also helps around the house and keeps things picked up and tidy. She also does any additional task I ask her to do like folding clean sheets and is always willing to help. The only reason we are not keeping Shelia is that our son is an only child and a COVID baby and needs daily socialization on a regular basis in a school setting.
