About Selena

At the start of this year, I decided to homeschool my children and supplement my husband's income with picking up play dates, date nights and overnight jobs. I recently got accepted into the Master of Education program at MSU Denver with an anticipated graduation date of Summer 2025. As the oldest of five siblings ranging from 3 years to 15 years younger than me, the caregiver role has been a part of my development for over 25 years. I embarked on a professional caregiving journey in 2016, I was a direct support professional for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities until my first son was born in 2019. After that, I took postpartum time off and once he was 6 months old I was a nanny for a family. I had my second son in 2020 and took more time off during the pandemic while finishing my undergrad and graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Welfare Services. Additionally, I was a preschool teacher from 2023 to 2024.
