My name is Sarah. I have a bachelor' s degree in Elementary Education and one years experience of working with a 25-year-old girl with Down syndrome. We became very good friends over the course of the year and enjoyed outings to the grocery store, parks, walking trails, YMCA, apple orchard, library, and mall. We had fun playing games which helped reinforce letter and number recognition skills. We also enjoyed trying our hand at painting and tie dying, along with other creative endeavors. Unfortunately a move across the country has meant we can no longer see each other, yet I still keep in contact with the family. The good news is I am now happily married and looking for work in the northern Delaware region. My passion is to be a help and encouragement to families needing a hand in caring for a child or adult with special needs.

Sarah worked with our daughter, 25 years old, after her day program during the week. Our daughter considered Sarah a best friend. Sarah took her to the YMCA, for walks, shopping, etc., everything a 20-something would do. Sarah was always on time, if not early, and was flexible if there were changes in the schedule. She got my daughter to enjoy physically active activities. She was very creative, inventive and positive all the time. We wish she could have stayed and are very happy she will be working and enriching another person's life. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. Sue R.
