About Sandy

I attended a math and science magnet boarding school that required SAT scores to enter in the 9th grade. I then tutored middle school and elementary children in math and science summer and weekend camps through my high school career. At the University of Illinois, I tutored in 7th grade math classrooms through the program called America Reads/ America Counts. I also tutored Spanish speaking ESL kids in reading in an after-school program. In addition, my family has always leaned on me for anything they need. My siblings struggled with anxiety, social anxiety, mild autism, and ADHD in their special education classes K-12. My parents struggled with English, especially writing and would have me handle bills, call centers, and generally reading mail. I am patient and kind. I can learn and do anything I am asked to. I believe in treating everyone with respect. I am vaccinated and prefer to wear a mask in public still.
