The paid experience I've referenced was taking care of a pair of huskies on a recurring basis, generally walking them. On more than one occasion I was their sole caregiver for over a week straight. During those occasions, I catered to their high energy levels with twice daily walks (often in rain or snow, as this was in Southeast Alaska) and various forms of play. I also groomed them and gave the elderly husky her meds. On another occasion I fostered an adult cat for about two months straight. Aside from that, I've had exposure to a variety of pets. From my childhood to now I've shared a home with 10 different dogs, including German shepherds and pit bulls. Some of these dogs have been rescues with anxiety/aggression issues that we've had to train them out of. I've similarly lived with and cared for half a dozen cats, four pet rodents, a turtle, and an aquarium. Overall, I am a huge fan of all animals and am confident that I can help your companion live their best life.
