I believe that children should enjoy their youth before life catches up with them and the "adulting phase" kicks in lol. With that being said the only way to get through a child is through play. With personal experience, My children are in elementary school and they tend to zone out when it's constant demands so I've learned over the years to make our interactions fun with occasional educational encounters and I've seen more engagement with them now more than ever. That's how I care for other people's children. I listen to them if they can speak, and if they aren't at a speaking age, I simply observe them and follow along with their personality. The phrase "it takes a village to raise a child' couldn't hit home more to me because it's hard being a mother, wife/gf, employee/employer, and an individual outside of all of the many hats we wear.
